Boshie Matlou

Boshigo Rosinah Matlou was born in 1950 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is the mother of four beautiful children, at home anywhere on the continent as a result of her many years of political exile in Africa, from South Africa to Botswana, Tanzania, Ghana and Nigeria. Hence she has traveled extensively in Africa with an ability to speak several languages, i.e. Setswana, IsiZulu, Kiswahili, French, English, Yoruba, Pidgin and a good quality of Twi. She studied History, Education and Sociology at the University of Cape Coast, and Communication and Journalism at the University of Ghana; and has worked in radio broadcasting of Kiswahili and English External Services in Ghana and Nigeria, and for ten years in banking. She has worked with various non-profit organizations and in the United Nations’ International Labour Organization since 1999.

She is very passionate about the plight of the African continent and its peoples, involved in many philanthropic non-governmental organizations concerning current affairs and developments, children and youth issues, war veterans and child soldiers, gender issues, faith issues, culture etc., and a member of the International FESTAC Committee, the African National Congress of South Africa, the African Diaspora Foundation and several NGOs and faith-based organizations.

Boshie loves singing, dancing, sports, reading, poetry and meeting people. But above all Boshie loves the Lord.
