Savannah Ré Overton is a 2007 graduate from Pepperdine University with a double major in Intercultural Communications and Sociology. Born and raised in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, CA, she has a relentless passion for human rights and social justice. Savannah is a former Spiritual Life Advisor and Spiritual Life Coordinator for Pepperdine. She is currently the International Youth Ambassador for Peace for the African Diaspora Foundation and Head Youth Advocate for Visionary Farm, Inc. Both are organizations that provide her with an outreach into the community and a path to bring justice and peace to the world’s dispossessed peoples. She has been involved with several on and off-campus, non-profit organizations as a member-at-large as well as participating in a 2006 mission trip to the Bahamas. For both Spring 2006 and Spring 2007 she was selected as Pepperdine’s
delegate to the Model United Nations Conference in New York City.

As a Founding Board Member of Pepperdine’s Wishing Well Initiative, she is dedicated to fulfill their mission as an organization determined to assist in bringing clean water and clean blood to sub-Saharan Africa by building water wells. While at Pepperdine she also served in the Student Government
Association as Senior Senator. During the summer of 2006, Savannah worked for FOX NETWORKS GROUP as an intern in Diversity Development. Savannah will now be continuing her social activist work and expanding her role as an officer of The Wishing Well while pursuing a dual-Master’s degree and possibly a PhD in communications and peace studies. Since graduation she has worked as a coordinator in Alternative Entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company; focusing on productions such as, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.
